Keynote:
Primary health care must be updated to meet the needs of the Planetary Health and climate emergency. We will outline the argument for adding Planetary Health Care as an eighth attribute to Starfield’s primary care framework. This includes advocacy for sustainability, reducing healthcare’s ecological footprint, interventions to co-benefit the health of both patients and the planet, and importantly supporting human rights and the right to a healthy environment. We will conclude with some practical Planetary Health “first steps” for clinical encounters, a green practice, education and advocacy.
