WONCA’s Working Party on Quality and Safety recently hosted a three-part webinar series exploring the results of the OECD’s Patient-Reported Indicator Surveys (PaRIS)—the world’s first international initiative to systematically measure patient experiences and outcomes in primary care. This landmark initiative, co-developed with patients, clinicians, and international experts, reflects a global push for more person-centred, high-performing health systems.

The series began with "Does Healthcare Deliver?", where Dr. Candan Kendir (OECD Health Division) provided an overview of PaRIS and its potential to drive policy reforms. In the second session, "Primary Care Through Patients’ Eyes", Prof. Zalika Klemenc Ketiš and Prof. Bohumil Seifert presented national findings from Slovenia and Czechia, offering insights into achieving strong outcomes even with moderate health spending. Finally, "Measurement Behind Patients’ Voices" featured Prof. Jose Maria Valderas, who explained the methodology and co-development process of the PaRIS survey and reflected on its implications for global equity.

WONCA encourages all family doctors, policymakers, and national associations to explore these webinar recordings and review the PaRIS report, using the findings to inform advocacy and strengthen primary care systems worldwide.
