The Council of EQUIP, the European network for Quality and Safety in Family Medicine in WONCA Europe, consists of national representatives of Colleges and Societies of Family Medicine in Europe.

The Council members send their deep sympathy to our colleagues in the Estonian Society of Family Doctors (ESFD) on the recent death of Le Vallikivi, past Council member of EQuiP representing ESFD.

In 2018, Le was awarded the title of Tallinn Family Physician of the year, and in 2023 the award of Estonian Doctor of the Year.

In 2023 the Estonian Society of Family Doctors awarded her the title of “Doer of the Year”.

In 2022, Anne & Stiil Magazine awarded her Woman of the Year.

Le was appreciated for her articulate inciteful communication style, colourful sense of humour, witty comments, brilliant ideas and seeing the big picture. She left a big impact on family medicine and Estonian healthcare.

Le is survived by her husband Janek, and her sons Siim, Aleks, Mihkel and Tanel.

EQuiP stands in solidarity with Elle-Malle Sadrak, Chair of the Board of the Estonian Society of Family Doctors, and Katrin Martinsson, both are thenational delegates of Estonia on the EQuiP Council. We also sympathise with Professor Ruth Kalda, University of Tartu, and all our colleagues in Estonia.
