EGPRN online workshop: How to understand grounded theory research

Our next interactive EGPRN online workshop 'How to understand grounded theory research’ will be next week, on 1st September 2026, at 17.00GMT / 18.00 CET / 19.00 EEST & IST & TRT.

We are very excited that Prof Hans Thulesius will join us to run the workshop. Hans is a professor of general practice in Sweden and a practicing GP with nearly three decades of experience in academic primary care. As well as being a skilled and enthusiastic medical teacher, Hans is a world-leading expert in grounded theory.

By the end of this 100-minute workshop, you will be able to:

  • understand the foundations of grounded theory,
  • become familiar with key concepts,
  • develop basic coding skills,
  • apply the constant comparative method,
  • understand theory development,
  • understand theoretical sampling and saturation.

As with all our teaching, this will be an interactive workshop, not a lecture.

The workshop is free for EGPRN members.

We highly encourage becoming a member as membership comes with many benefits besides free attendance to this workshop.
